This Hat pattern is ideal for those who love a different technique, or who loathe working in the round or fighting with DPNs. The gentle cables provide an elegant and stable brim, whilst the body with its eyelets provide a casual, generous shape. Constructed sideways by knitting on straight needles, using short rows for shaping and provisional cast-on then grafting for a perfect, seam-free finish. Hat Description Arbacia is a sideways knit beret with short row shaping. It features a cabled brim, with the cable running horizontally around. The body has vertical columns of small eyelets and alternates between wider and narrower flat sections between each column of eyelets. The eyelets are incorporated into the short row shaping and converge at the crown to create a pinwheel shape.
