Description I have designed these mittens based on elements I have observed from different Saami mittens I have seen in museums. These mittens begin with a traditional three-color braided cast-on and are worked in bands of patterning made of 2 and 3 colors within a round. The thumb is without a gusset and the tip is made pointed in the classic way. The pattern includes how-to photos for the cast-on and for opening the thumb hole as well as charts.
