Dutrieu – knitting pattern

Named for a pioneering (and stylish) aviatrix, Dutrieu’s bold lines make the most of hand-painted sock yarn. While the sideways garter-stitch construction is easy and fun to work, short rows plus a widening brim result in unpredictable colour changes that add a note of adventure to this simple cloche. Hat Description Dutrieu is an asymmetrical garter stitch cloche knit sideways. The longer portion of the brim folds upwards to create a wide and shallow triangle, which is held in place with a single button at the top corner of the triangle.
